Sr Sustainability Change Communications Manager is needed to support our global insurance client's Sustainability team. Be involved in a variety of focused efforts that align with the company's overarching sustainability objectives. This position will primarily revolve around strategic and tactical communications - both written and designed. Ideal candidate has 5+ years of Sustainability or ESG communications experience designing, drafting and executing communications for transformation efforts targeted at a diverse internal audience, including senior leadership. This primarily remote opportunity is open to East Coast applicants.
The Sustainability team is seeking a contingent worker to support the role of Sr. Sustainability Consultant. This role reports directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer and provides subject matter expertise on sustainability practices. In addition to supporting the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy, this position will have a heavy focus on strategic communications, change management, and internal stakeholder engagement. This role requires extensive experience with corporate communication. We are seeking someone who is creative, self-driven, results oriented and excited to drive sustainability throughout the organization.
Responsibilities include:
Communication and Education
Execute and manage an integrated strategic communication plan in support of sustainability goals coordinating with key partners including Marketing, Employee Communications, and Human Resources.
Write, design, develop, and execute tactical and strategic internal and external communications, including PowerPoint presentations, executive talking points, website copy, articles, video scripts, and sustainability reports.
Collaborate with internal partners to manage communication saturation, adjust approaches to address issues/risks, and leverage learnings to inform future planning and overall effectiveness.
Partner with various business units to design and deliver materials to build and increase sustainability knowledge across the enterprise.
Develop and maintain a content repository.
Manage content reviews and edits with the Sustainability Team and key partners.
Change Management
Lead change efforts by supporting the design and implementation of a structured change strategy to ensure readiness and adoption of programs or initiatives.
Ensure successful execution of change management plans including communications, leadership enablement, training, resistance management and implementation readiness.
Proactively identify, track, and resolve change risks and issues.
Design and develop initiative specific communication plans, aligned to the Prosci change management approach.
Stakeholder Engagement
Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy.
Partner with internal stakeholders to identify communication and change management needs.
Support requests from executives and other business partners in the development of sustainability presentation materials or talking points.
Project Management
Serve as project manager for communication and change initiatives.
Supports the Sustainability team in coordinating multiple projects and maintains project documentation.
Tracks project milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
Ensure delivery of projects by managing vendor relationships and deliverables.
Qualifications
Experience:
3 - 5 years relatable experience developing strategic and tactical communications and executing change
Experience collaborating with global teams in varying time zones
Experience designing and writing communications in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment
Experience designing training curriculum
Broad Sustainability/ESG knowledge and the ability to engage with leaders across many different industries on related topics.
Experience working in the insurance industry is a plus but not required
